Ann Richardson, Helen Snowball, Ann Wilks and Maureen Bullock are part of the Healthy Living Group at Winlaton Community Base. The group addresses issues specifically relating to women's health and found the subject of breast screening and self examination very important but was very aware that it was at times difficult to understand.

Words such as Mammogram, Benign, Cancer and Malignant were not only confusing but also frightening. The women felt very strongly that the message and information available should be shared with people with learning difficulties in a clear and easily understood way.

The group decided to produce a piece of drama to help make this information clear for everyone.

The production "Breast Friends" was born.
